Driving tests came up in the conversation this last week when my brother and his family were up and we did some reminiscing … I remember being positive the reason I failed my test the first time was because it was a lovely sunny day while it seemed to be raining nearly every time I went out while learning. When I had my second driving test it was pouring down … I passed no problem lol.

My Mam says that my Grandma told me to wear a short skirt (she who didn’t even approve of chewing gum!) for my test and apparently I was most indignant and insisted NO I was going to pass on my own merit thank you very much, and wore jeans. I don’t remember this at all but I’ll believe her, Mam might not remember what she phoned me for but she has a good memory for things of yore!
